Creamy Tomato and Sausage Pasta

This classic recipe, is a perfect combination of tangy and creamy zest combined with the powerful flavours and texture of Italian sausage. A healthy, and nutritious pasta recipe that can be savoured by all.


Ingredients Required

Olive oil
A packet of pasta (of choice)
200 grams sausages (preferably sweet Italian sausage)
1 can plum tomatoes, chopped
200 ml whipped cream
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt as per taste
1 red bell pepper, chopped
A bunch of fresh parsley, coarsly chopped
Parmesan cheese, grated

Method and Preparation

Cook the pasta as per the directions mentioned on the packet. Keep aside to cool. Heat the olive oil in a pan and saute the sausages, add the red pepper and saute for about 5 minutes, until the sausages are done. Add the onions and garlic paste and sauté until the onions turn translucent; subsequently add in the seasoning, tomatoes and cream; simmer for a few minutes.

Once the sauce is done, mix the cooked pasta with the sauce, garnish with Parmesan cheese and parsley and serve hot. This dish takes about 25 minutes to make and serves up to 2 persons.

Pasta E Fagioli (Italian sausage soup) 

Although traditionally pasta e fagioli is a meatless dish, this variation of the dish is adds varied texture and impactful flavours to the dish making it a delicacy.


Ingredients Required

1 packet shell pasta
400 grams Italian sausage, roughly chopped
Olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1 stalk of celery, chopped
1 can white kidney beans
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 can of tomatoes with juice
700 ml vegetable or chicken stalk
Dried oregano seasoning
dry basil
red paprika flakes
Flat leaf parsley, chopped
Parmesan cheese

Method and Preparation

Cook the pasta as per the instructions mentioned on the packet. Leave aside to cool. Heat the olive oil in a pan and saute the onions, add the carrot, garlic paste, celery and the sausages and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the herbs and the seasoning followed by the tomatoes and the stalk and bring to a boil, before adding the beans.

Simmer for half an hour. Once the stalk is done, mix in the pasta. To serve, garnish with Parmesan and parsley and serve hot along with garlic bread or a salad. This dish takes about an hour to make and serves up to 4 persons.

Sausage and Pasta Bake

The classic baked pasta recipe never lacks lustre and flavour  This creamy recipe made with simple ingredients is a mouth watering treat.


Ingredients Required

2 spring onions, chopped
100 grams mushrooms, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 capsicum, chopped
olive oil
2 cups macaroni, cooked
150 grams Italian sausages, sliced

For the Sauce

1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
fresh milled black pepper
salt as per taste
breadcrumbs

Method and Preparation

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat oil in a pan and saute the sausages onions and bell peppers and keep aside.

For the sauce

Melt butter and slowly add flour and milk, stirring constantly to make a thin paste, subsequently add all the cheeses, and the seasoning and simmer for a minute or two. Mix the pasta with the sauce and transfer the entire mix to a baking dish, top with bread crumbs and bake for 20 minutes. This dish serves up to 4 persons and takes about an hour to make.
