Side Planks

These are core exercises which work excellently for abdomen and legs. You need to lie straight sideways and then extend the legs so that they are on top of one another.

You can place your elbow just under your shoulder. Keep your forearm straight. Legs should also be straight so that they support your whole body. Stay in this position for at least 4-5 seconds before you lower your body. Take a break and repeat. If it hurts which can happen in case of newbies, go slow as much as you can.


One of the easiest and simplest way to get rid of your tummy fat is with crunches. You need to lie flat on the floor and keep your knees bent. Place your feet on floor. Keep arms just across your chest. Now start to slowly tighten your muscles of the abdomen by slowly drawing the belly button inside.

Do this slowly and never strain yourself. Start to lift your shoulder above the floor while your back is straight. Remember that your breath needs to be normal during the performance of crunches. You will have to slowly lower the shoulders towards the level of the ground but ensuring that your head does not touch the ground. Keep repeating as many times as you are comfortable.

Exercise Ball Roll Out

If you have been trying hard to tone abdominal muscles but failing to get effective results, you can try this out effectively.

You have to kneel down just behind an exercise ball. Keep your palms on the top and slowly straighten your arms. Now, you can roll this ball away in a way so that your body stretches. Keep rolling it forward while you make efforts to maintain the body balance while keeping the ball under control. If you find this a bit difficult, take a smaller size ball. This will tone your abdominal muscles effectively.

Leg Lifts

This is a great way to tone your abdominal muscle and have a flat tummy. You just need to be flat on the floor comfortably and keep your hands by your side. Start to lift your legs casually and point them towards the ceiling. Start to lower them but ensure that these do not touch the floor. You can continue the process of lowering your legs and lifting them. Initially you may not be able to do too many repetitions but as you are comfortable, keep increasing the counts.
